Stands are available to support any of our columns. For smaller columns we recommend
a small benchtop stand with a plastic base, our benchtop ministand. This stand is acceptable for columns of
2.5 cm diameter and smaller up to 30 cm in length.
For mid-sized columns, a larger benchtop stand with an aluminum base is required. Our
benchtop workstation includes 2 support rods and can support columns up to 15 cm in diameter
and 90 cm in length.
Our floor model workstation adds versatility to our larger columns, 7.5 to 15 cm in diameter.
This provides a rolling but lockable base that securely supports these larger columns. Because it
rolls on the floor, this stand consumes no valuable bench space; it also lets you tilt the column
for cleaning or repacking without unmounting the column.
While our columns can be supported by standard 3-fingered clamps or belt clamps, our support rings
solidly and securely support our columns. For the smaller diameter column (5 cm and smaller), the
rings grab the upper and lower endplates. For the 0.6 to 1.5 cm diameter columns, clamps that
are sized for 2.5 cm diameter columns are used with plastic reducing inserts to reduce the
bore of the clamp to an appropriate size. The reducing inserts are listed at the bottom of the page; two rings
and one insert kit are needed to support a column.
For the larger diameter columns (7.5 cm diameter and larger), the supports are applied differently. Again, 2 rings and 1 insert kit
are needed, but the clamps only support the upper endplate.
