Our Glenco Double-Action Micro syringes are most widely recognized for their superior balance and the reduced heat transfer from your hand to your sample. They represent the ultimate sample injection syringe for both GC and HPLC use.

These syringes feature:

  • Superior Balance
  • Reduced Heat Transfer
  • Reinforced Plunger Assembly
  • Precision Upper Guide Chamber
  • Fixed or Removable Needles

Many syringes not specifically designed for chromatographic applications are delicate instruments, easily damaged when used with valves and fittings. We have overcome this problem with the double-action plunger guide. An enlarged upper guide chamber, a large plunger upper shaft and Teflon® guides combined with a precision syringe lower body produce the ultimate chromatography syringe.

The upper body improves the balance of the syringe by moving weight away from the needle. This same shift in the center of gravity allows you to hold the syringe by the upper body to prevent your hand from warming the sample contained in the precision syringe. The Teflon guides provide for smooth, positive injections, reducing any injection errors.

The needles supplied with these syringes are sharp with a deflected point that prevents the hollow bore of the needle from contacting the septum as the needle is inserted. Since the needle bore does not contact the septum, it cannot cut a "core" from the septum which could either become lodged in the needle and plug it or fall into your solvent container or injector. Regular non-deflected needles also cut larger holes in septa; this reduced the lifetime of the septa (when compared to the deflected point needles) and keeps them from sealing as well when the needle is removed.

The removable needle syringes are marked as series 19913. A variety of replacement needles are available for these syringes. These can be used to change the type of needle on the syringe or to replace a plugged or bent needle.

The fixed needle syringes are marked as series 19909. In these syringes the needles is permanently cemented into the syringe and cannot be replaced.

Conventional Micro Syringes

We also manufacture conventional micro syringes. These are small syringes and lack many of the features of these double-action syringes.

These syringes are sold for laboratory use only. They are not sold for medical, veterinary, or other uses.
