Spectrum Chromatography manufactures the full line of Glenco syringes including the conventional micro syringes.
But, for a fantastic syringe experience, we recommend our
Double-Action microsyringes. They are
superior in every way except length to a conventional micro syringe.
Convention Micro Syringes feature:
- Precision Ground Tungsten Plunger
- Fixed or Removable Needles
- Precision Borosilicate Barrel
Many syringes not specifically designed for chromatographic applications are delicate instruments, easily damaged when used with valves and fittings.
The Glenco conventional micro syringes are rugged with solid Tungsten plungers.
Since the coefficients of thermal expansion for borosilicate glass and Tungsten are similar, the use of a
Tungsten plunger also allows these syringes to be used at extreme temperatures.

The needles supplied with these syringes are sharp with a deflected point that prevents the hollow bore of the needle
from contacting the septum as the needle is inserted.
Since the needle bore does not contact the septum, it cannot cut a
"core" from the septum which could either become lodged in the needle and plug it or fall into your solvent container or injector.
Regular non-deflected needles also cut larger holes in septa; this reduced the lifetime of the septa
(when compared to the deflected point needles) and keeps them from sealing as well when the needle is removed.
